Edgeplay (Goode Pain Book 1)

By

Annabel Allan

By day, Ava Goode is in the insurance game, getting her work done and being a model employee.

But by night, she retreats to her secret world where she Dominates those that seek to submit to her.

This private world gets turned upside down the moment she meets Gabriel Burton; a man who is not only successful but works for her father—and dating men in her father’s office is a big no-no.

But, it’s hard to resist your deepest desires, especially when they kneel before you and kiss your feet, like a good boy.

And now an interview with Ava, the protagonist of Edgeplay

What is your full name? Do you have a nickname?

My name is Ava May Goode. I don’t have a nickname, per say…but I am called Mistress by my submissives.

Where do you live?

I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

What colour is your hair/eyes?

My eyes are blue, my hair is naturally ash blonde, but I dye it platinum.

Do you have a job/hobby?

I am a full-time professional Dominatrix at the sex club Xposed.

How did you get into that? I mean, it’s not a job you go to college for is it? Were you ‘kinky’ before you began working there?

Wouldn’t it be great if there were schools for it? I got into it just by going to fetish events and clubs, discovering myself and being trained by a friend and Daddy Dom, Julius. Having people pay for my services seemed like a good financial decision, but I did have a day job in insurance until I went full-time at Julius’ club.

51OYjq1hZALWhat are you like between the sheets?

I am extremely Dominant but have been in touch with my submissive side lately. I think “kinky” covers it 😉

How Dominant? Are you into flogging your subs? I mean, I sort of image that ‘subs’ are boring and are sitting around waiting for instructions from their Dom. But Gabriel Burton doesn’t come across as boring. He seems pretty hot and wild like you, so what gives?

I have a touch of Sadism when it comes to my submissives, and yes, I love a good flogging. I even have a favourite red flogger.

It’s definitely a misconstrued notion that submissives don’t have a mind of their own. Submissives are the strongest piece of the dynamic. There’s also more to it than giving instructions—there’s a power exchange, and in the end a Dominant is taking care of the submissive, both their desires and through aftercare. Me and Gabe, well, we’re a good match because he’s a bit of a Masochist. We feed into each other’s desires of pleasure and pain.

Have you started your own family? Do you have any plans for a new addition?

At present, I am in a polyamorous relationship with my Alpha submissive, Gabriel Burton, my secondary submissive, Reichen Shepherd, and my Dominant, Gideon Shaw. Out of the three, I am only in love with Gabe, and it was a difficult road getting together. We do have plans for children in the future, as well as a house. What? A Dominatrix can be a soccer mom too!

Would that include keeping your other subs, or would you settle down with one guy?

I haven’t really got to that point yet…being a Dominant is now a big part of my life. I would hope that I would keep my submissives, as well as Sir (Gideon) in my life. I do see myself settling down with Gabe, but I don’t think I would give up the BDSM aspect of our relationship or of myself.

Do you own a gun (or any other weapon)? Killed anyone (either purposely or not)?

Own a gun? Thinking about it…Killed someone? Unfortunately, yes. I’d rather not get into those demons though.

You can’t stop there! Has, er, killing someone made you into the person you are now? Did you go to prison for it?

It was deemed self-defence, so no jail time. It’s definitely given me more demons to get through. Killing someone, even in self-defence, isn’t easy on your psyche. Especially when it was fragile to begin with.

51OYjq1hZALAre you happy now your story has been told? Is there more to come?

I am definitely happy that my story, which is in progress, is being told. After all, it’s one of my aims to make Domination and submissive more the norm. Sex is natural. Why fight nature?

Do you have a motto/favourite saying you’d like to share?

You only live once.

How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings?

I have learned to let go a little more these days, but I believe in being honest. It’s just getting in touch with those feelings. I’m working on that.

What, if anything, would you like to change about your life?

I think I would try to tone down the constant danger I keep getting myself and my poly family into. I sometimes wonder how things can get worse, then it does…hence thinking about getting a gun. I need to protect my family as best as I can, even though I seem to be the constant in the situation that gets us into this trouble. Stalkers, the mob, bounty hunters, murder…what’s next for little Ava Goode?

Thank you, Ava, I’m looking forward to reading your story.

  1. What an interesting character Ava is. In some ways so strong and in some ways so vulnerable. Loved this book!
