It’s weird how every woman reacts differently. How each pregnancy differs.
Mine is definitely unique.
My sense of smell became stronger, picking up the faintest odors, and my stomach was in constant turmoil. Those were the first signs.
And then I started eating. And eating. If I don’t, I get a migraine and people’s faces become blurry. Electronics seem to malfunction in my presence. And the nightmares—they don’t stop.
Something is changing my body. Something that should have never happened.
Something that my husband and I had prevented from happening.
Something people say is miraculous.
The bigger I get, the more frequently I encounter people who become possessed. And the more often I wind up questioning if I am carrying a miracle baby.
The closer I get to the due date, the more I love this child and the more confident I am that I will protect my baby from anything.
Even its fate.

How many unpublished books do you have lurking under your bed/in your cupboard?
I have a series that I’m developing in my spare time… which is limited, but I have the first book outlined. It’s about a young woman who can speak to ghosts. She receives advice from her past lives on how to deal with her current challenges.
Are your family/friends supportive of your writing?
Yes, they are extremely supportive. My best friend knows all of my books and their plots. I bounce ideas off her all the time and at random hours. She has some great ideas and is never afraid to tell me the hard truth. My parents are always encouraging me and my boyfriend tells me to follow my dreams. Between all of them, they support and know that sometimes I don’t have to time to stop writing. They joke about me running late and know that when I’m in another world, it’s hard to get me out of it.
How do/did you deal with rejection letters/bad reviews of your own work?
I have had no rejection letters, but I also have sent none. However, I have gotten a few critical reviews; mostly they didn’t like the swearing, drinking, or brothel setting. The one review that was critical made me sit back and think. I learn from those who critique me and never think of it as a negative thing.
When did you first call yourself a writer?
After I published my first book and received five stars.
What’s your least favourite part of the writing process?
Marketing and social media. I’m not computer savvy and shy away from social media.
How long does it typically take you to write a novel?
Anywhere between six months and a year, depending on my chaotic life.
What is DNA Demons N Angels about?
DNA Demons N Angels is a book about a woman named Evie who becomes pregnant when it should be impossible. It is in first person present tense, so you can see into her mind and experience the book as if you were Evie. The story starts at 5 weeks pregnant and continues until she gives birth.
After a heartbreaking divorce, Evie goes on a road trip to find a new home for her baby and herself. While she’s travelling, odd things happen. People become possessed around her, either telling her to kill her child or protect the babe at all costs.
Then things get weird.

Was there a character/scene you struggled with?
The birth. I don’t have children, so really the whole pregnancy, how they feel was the biggest challenge. Getting those feelings right. Luckily, my best friend was pregnant at the time and I literally wrote it alongside of her, week by week. She helped me so much get into a pregnant woman’s mindset.
If Evie was one of your friends, what advice would you give her?
Trust no one.
How did you come up with the slogan for DNA Demons N Angels? It sounds kind of perfect and sums up the entire book!
Since this is a book about a woman’s pregnancy—What to Expect When You’re Expecting Something Different—felt right.
What’s the most shocking one-liner from DNA Demons N Angels?
Sleeping with an angel must be sacrilegious.
If Evie was one of your friends, what advice would you give her?
Don’t listen to anyone but yourself. Trust only yourself and your motherly intuition.
Is there a dedication?
My best friend was pregnant while I was writing this book and I wanted to dedicate it to her child. The dedication would have been: Welcome to the world, Robbie.
However, my friend didn’t want an Antichrist book to be dedicated to her newborn. So I decided to not dedicate it to anyone, but secretly, in my mind, it’s dedicated to him.

This book was an absolute blast to read! Evie’s journey was exciting from the minute she stepped onto the page. Zaber does an incredible job of making you feel absolutely everything. Seriously, one moment I was dying laughing and the next I was absolutely heartbroken. I’ve never before experienced every emotion on the spectrum as fully as I did in DNA. Evie was an incredible lead and I am ONE HUNDRED PERCENT dropping all of my other book boyfriends for Lucas (fight me).
